"By kin I mean those who have an enduring mutual, obligatory, non-optional, you-can’t-just-cast-that-away-when-it-gets-inconvenient, enduring relatedness that carries consequences. I have a cousin, the cousin has me; I have a dog, a dog has me." - Donna Haraway
In this series of modified emojis I looked at how we would use emojis when the way we have relationships changes. Like Haraway writes, we can become one with our dog but also with technology. A Person on a bike changes immediately when using their phone on the bike. They are now one. A family no longer exists of only one male father, one female mother and children, they can exist of male + male or female + female. These emojis dip a toe in the water of families existing of female + laptop or laptop + tablet.
