The human brain processes images with two systems. System 1 is fast, instinctive and emotional and system 2 is slower, more deliberative, and more logical. This series images all went viral when system 1 of our brain was inaccurate. Large groups of people all saw the same thing when in fact the reality was different. System 2 was not that much better in deciphering these images either. Because after many debates where the truth of the images was revealed the instinctive system of our brain was still dominant. An Ai processes images just like us, it looks for things it recognises. Just like our system 1 we make conclusions based on links between things we already know.
The Ai in this series images will confirm your line of thought when seeing these images because this is how an Ai sees the images as well. And just like us it doesn’t always know what it is seeing.
